Has Me In Stitches

A good friend is a football fanatic - and specifically a Seattle Seahawks fan. She watched a game at our house recently, snuggled under a thick blanket I crocheted for my daughter.  By the time the game was over, I had committed to make her a blanket in Seahawks colors. I wanted to try a new stitch - something completely different. So I zeroed in on this . I am really happy with the unique design and the way the colors work together.  I finished it off with 2 rows of single stitch in the dark navy, and 1 row of double crochet. Now my friend has an awesome blanket to wrap up in as our Seahawks embark on their best year yet!

It all started with a simple Crochet-Along. A harmless little activity that brings fellow crochet fanatics together.  Rachel Choi, who runs a great website called The Crochet Spot put this together and offered up a free pattern for a cardholder .  If you're like me, your wallet is bursting at the seams with loyalty cards and gift cards.  This handy little cardholder pattern is just the ticket for organizing that pile of cards.  It also provides a unique way to package gift cards for gift giving, and it's the perfect project for using up scrap yarn.
